Dunes Park Pool

 
The District's pool facility is one of the great benefits to living in the Dunes Park neighborhood. The pool facility was constructed in 2002 and is comprised of a 44,000-gallon pool (with a depth range of 3 feet to 5 feet, an 860-gallon toddler wading pool (1-foot depth) and bathroom facilities. Both pools are lighted for night swimming and heated.

Pool Season / Hours of Operation


The Pool is open approximately 101 days each year from Saturday on Memorial Day weekend (in May) to Labor Day (first Monday in September).

The pool is open 7 days a week from 8:00am to 10:00pm every day during the pool season.

Access to the Pool

Access to the pool is open to (1) district residents, (2) guests of district residents and (3) non-district residents who purchase a season use pass. Pool users must present acceptable identification at the gate to the District's gate monitors before gaining access to the pool.

Non-Resident Pool Passes

Non-residents may purchase a season pool pass for $400. The pass allows the non-resident and up to three guests to use the pool. Additional guests may be added to the pool pass at the rate of $100 per guest. The District does not sell day passes.

If you are interested in purchasing a season pass, please contact the District Manager. Season passes cannot be purchased at the pool.   You must submit a $400 check, a completed pool user information form and acceptable identification to the District. The District requires five business days to process the check and application before issuing a season pass.

Guest Usage of the Pool

Each household within the District may collectively accompany up to six (6) Guests to the pool. Residents must accompany their Guests at the pool at all times. If Residents desire to accompany more than six Guests at the pool, they must submit their request to the District's Property Manager. Under direction from the Board, the District Manager will review and grant/deny requests received and notify the Gate Attendants.

Conditions Restricting Access to Pool

Residents, their Guests and/or Season Pass Holders who violate pool rules and policies may have their pool use privileges suspended by the Board.  In addition, Residents will also be restricted from accessing the pool if either (1) their account balance owed to the District is greater than $75 or (2) an open covenant violation at the fourth stage or greater exists on their property.  Those who enter the pool area when their pool privileges are suspended will be considered trespassing and will be referred by the District to the Commerce City police.

No Pool Lifeguard

The District pool is not monitored by lifeguards.  Residents, their Guests and Season Pass Holders must use the pool at their own risk.

Children at the Pool

Children 12 years old and  younger must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older) at all times. Adults must notify the Gate Attendant of those children over which the adults are assuming responsibility.

Residents who are 16 or 17 years old may accompany one guest at least 16 years of age at the pool.

Severe Weather

If severe weather is occurring at the pool or is in near proximity (i.e. within several miles) to the pool, users of the pool must leave the gated pool area and the Gate Attendant will close the pool. At the Gate Attendant's discretion, the Gate Attendant may reopen the pool no earlier than 30 minutes after the severe weather ceases. Severe weather includes, but is not limited to lightning, thunder, rain, severe winds, tornadoes and hail.

Pool Capacity

Although more than 64 people are allowed within the gated area of the pool, the maximum number of individuals allowed in the pool is 64 (per 2011 Tri-County Health Department ordinances). The Gate Attendant is authorized to restrict additional individuals from entering the pool area if maximum capacity has been reached.

Trespassing

Individuals accessing the pool area outside of normal pool operating hours and days and without authorization from the Board are deemed to be trespassing on private property--an offense punishable under Commerce City's municipal code.
